Participate in a Research Study on Trichotillomania (TTM)

Hi, I’m a Psy.D. student at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. I’m conducting a study exploring how online platforms like websites and apps support individuals with TTM.

What to Expect

  • A 50–55 minute online survey about your experiences with TTM and digital platforms.
  • Participation is confidential, and no identifying information will be collected.

Purpose
To understand how digital tools impact awareness, management, and well-being in TTM communities.

Risks

  • Questions may evoke emotional discomfort, but you can pause or withdraw at any time.
  • Support resources will be provided if needed.

Benefits
While you will not receive a direct benefit, your input will contribute to advancing TTM research and improving support tools.

Who Can Participate

  • Anyone aged 18+

If support resources are needed, you will be provided with referrals to mental health resources to help address any discomfort. These resources include:

  • National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI): Contact the NAMI HelpLine at 1-800-950-NAMI (6264) for support and information.
  • Crisis Text Line: Text CONNECT to 741741 for free, 24/7 crisis support.
  • Trichotillomania Helpline: Reach the 24-hour helpline at 1-800-928-8000 for assistance related to trichotillomania.
