School is making trich worse
So I am eleven, in class with thirteen year olds. I have had trichotillomania for four years, and my school is making it worse. People say I look weird, and when I attempt to isolate myself so I can hide my eyelashes it is said I have no friends. I also have anxiety, and it means a great deal what people think of me in my eyes. So I pull. And more people bring it up and it goes around and around until I am obsessing over my eyebrows and crying my eyes out because I feel so much guilt. Getting counseling, hopefully the second time will work :/
Hello. I am so sorry you are having such an awful experience with trich and with school. I am curious as to why you are in a class with older children? The teen years can be really challenging for anyone let alone when you are struggling with anxiety. Both anxiety and stress can be major triggers for pulling. I hope counselling will be helpful for you. If your counsellor is not familiar with treating trich it may be useful for him or her to visit this website for some info.
Best of luck to you!
