Not pulling hair, scalp picking

I'm nearly 35 and an otherwise healthy and attractive female. For many years, I've found small imperfections or lumps on the scalp. First I rub, scratch, maybe squeeze and eventually the picking of the inevitable scab. Does this website cover this or only hair pulling? I've been able to keep the spots small up until now. I have a nickel sized spot on the back of my head now that is basically bald. I'm so self-conscious and even my husband is starting to notice. I've lied to hair stylist, worn hats, gloves, anything to avoid or deter. Is there anyone else out there with this problem?

I am 30 and attractive and do the same thing. Scalp picking and hair pulling. It's what they call comorbid.

I do it. I'm 40. I also have multiple autoimmune diseases including psoriatic arthritis, Sjogren's, Behcet's, and severe vasculitis. I think the scalp things are psoriasis, but they did a biopsy, and it came back as autoimmune...but I will have to dig up the specific diagnosis. I use clobetasol on them now.

Also, with my daughter's trich, Emla (lidocaine, basically) has been helpful to reduce the burning sensation she experiences.
