Hello I'm a puller and have been doing it for over 45 years. I'm in therapy . I struggle with this all day. If i could pull all day I would. It first started in a hair bump in my head being pulled out by my cousin and ever since then I loved that feeling it gave me which felt which is relief.
You mentioned you have been going to therapy, can you think of a reason why it hasn't worked? Do you pull out of anxiety, stress? I'm just starting mine, and am feeling optimistic. At the moment I'm trying different hobbies to get my mind off of it. One that's been working better than I expected is meditation. It was really hard at first. I got frustrated as I noticed my hands were at my head, pulling my hair, without me even realising. However, slowly with time I began to notice the moment my hands travelled up and I immediately pulled them away. I get anxious when I want to pull but am keeping myself back. Slow, deep breaths then, 10 seconds at a time. I'm not rid of it yet, but I do it less.
